The fires of his passion were stoked in his grandmothers' kitchens and continue to burn bright in their honor.
The love of food and cooking instilled in a young boy in small town Louisiana led to Chef Kevin being a 1998 graduate of the Chef John Folse Culinary Institute at Nicholls State University in Thibodaux, Louisiana. From there he followed his passion to restaurants across the state and beyond taking Louisiana cuisine to Clearwater Beach, Florida as Executive Chef at a Cajun/Creole dining destination overlooking the beach. Upon his return to Louisiana, Chef Kevin continued to advance his career when he opened 124 Restaurant & Spirits on the Mandeville Lakefront. Under his leadership 124 was selected as the Best New Restaurant on the Northshore and as a Top 10 Best New Restaurant in the New Orleans region.
It was during this time that he discovered his love for educating the future of the culinary industry and became a full-time educator at Louisiana Technical College working with at-risk youth. As a Chef Instructor at Louisiana Culinary Institute and a competition judge on both the state and national levels through the National Restaurant Association ProStart program, Chef Kevin continues to share his passion with future chefs.
Chef Kevin has recently taken the position of Executive Chef/Retail & Production Manager for St. Tammany Parish Hospital in Covington, LA. He is looking forward to using his years of experience and knowledge to execute the vision of pushing the entire Food and Nutrition Services Department into the future of what hospital food can be!
